Hi Lin and Jeff,

What an excellent piece of work. There must have been an enormous number of hours of work put in to produce this guide. Having so much information all available in one document will be a great benefit to all PTE users. Many, many thanks for your dedication to this project.

Would you prefer to receive any comments/feedback on particular points (if there are any!) via the forum, via PMs on the forum or through personal email?

Kind Regards
Peter

Lin & Jeff, thanks for the marvellous document, (all good things come to those that wait). I have only had this PDF for 5 minutes and have already learnt several interesting thing, a big well done to you both.

As of this morning you now have 4,682 plus proof readers who I'm sure will find the odd typo etc. How do you wish these to be dealt with? Ignore them, a PM, email or post here? :)
regards
John.

On behalf of Lin and myself, thank you for all your comments . We enjoyed writing the guide and learned many things ourselves in the process. I think the best action is to post any comments here in the forum rather than sending separate emails. This way everyone will see issues which, either need correcting, or require more explanation.

Lin has commented that we may add to this manual. We may well do this but, as yet have no definitive plans. We welcome any comments, either in correction or in the presentation. The aim is to provide a comprehensive guide which will be the most use to the maximum number of users.

Hi Lin and John,

I have just installed PTE v.5 delux and was very pleased that there is now a Tutorial for this progrmme.
Unfortunately I have been unable to read the document. The zip file downloads and unzips to a PDF file which refuses to open with Adobe Acrobat v8. I am using XP.

Can you please help,

Regards,

Derek Williams.

Hi Derek,

You should have no problems with the pdf document as it is a universal format. The original was made in Word 2000 and then converted to pdf using Acrobat Writer Version 7.0. Just check you have the latest version of Acrobat Reader and try again. If you still have problems. I will email you the base version in Microsoft Word, providing you promise to read it only and not to change anything. You will need Microsoft Office 2000 to read the document.

Roger,

I think Lin was referring to the post in the main forum. Anyway the answer is that we will ask Igor to make a link but it is up to him whether he agrees or not.

Lin, Jeff,

I added your tutorial in the "PTE V5 tutorial" section of my site.

It's a link to the file hosted on Lin's webspace.
Do not forget to tell me if you the link. ;)
(May be you should give to the zip a generic name - which won't change - and only change the name of the pdf file included in the archive to indicate the version).
