    Hardware antialiasing on or off?

Tom, Thanks, I see this problem. When an object has a certain sharp angle in 3D space the antialiasing doesn't look perfect or looks completely off. I will think how to fix it in PTE 10. We can easily enable antiliasing from NVIDIA/AMD, but I'm afraid to see visual artefacts in some case. Because large images in PTE are constructed from an array of small textures. And we need a fine control to disable antialiasing on internal edges of such textures. I 'll perform new checks.

    Hardware antialiasing on or off?

Tom, Send me your project with one slide. I will check it. Antialiasing for Image and Video objects in PTE should work absolutely ideally without any defects. Forced antialiasing from NVIDIA may add a grid of visual artefacts in the middle of an image.

    Hardware antialiasing on or off?

Tom, Did you set "Edge antialiasing" option for an object in the Objects and animation editor? It seems to be OFF in your example. By default, it's ON in all new Image/Video/Rectangle objects.

    News about PTE 10

Hi, We plan to introduce PTE 10 Beta 1 this winter. PTE 10 for Mac is planned for 2019. Right now we're working on the final stage to assembly Mac version of PTE 10. Mac version of PTE 10 will be only 64-bit. Honestly it's a very hard work, because we had to rewrite all code of PTE. Here are some major features of PTE 10: - New fast video decoders with hardware acceleration for smooth playback of video clips. We tried to provide smooth playback of 60p video clips in real time. [DONE] - New video encoders with hardware acceleration (works faster in 3-5 times). [DONE] - Dark mode of the graphical interface (classical Light theme is also available). [ALMOST DONE] - Hardware accelerated graphical interface of PTE [ALMOST DONE] Slide list, Timeline and File list should work faster and more smooth on screens with high resolution. We created this technology to make a cross-platform code for PTE 10. - Themes of slide styles. A theme is a group of several slide styles which can be applied to many slides (according rules set by an author) [ALMOST DONE] - We plan to add Text effects (animations). This work is not performed yet. Of course, it's not final list of all improvements of PTE 10. We already added many new features and improvements which will be announced with first public Beta version. PTE 10 for Windows will be 32-bit. We plan 64-bit version later after release of 64-bit Mac version. However even 32-bit version of PTE 10 will able use 4 GB of memory instead of 2 GB in PTE 9.

Do you burn DVD video in PTE?

Any thoughts what we should do with VideoBuilder (DVD video) in PTE 10? Now we're fully rewriting the main code of PTE 10 to prepare Mac version, 64-bit, Dark/Light interface. VideoBuilder is a very old part of PTE. Of course, we can spend additional 3-5 months and fully rewrite it, but DVD video format becomes outdated and less popular with every year. Should we remove VideoBuilder, or keep it "as is" without official support?
  8. Not yet. They confirmed the problem and no further news.
  9. Description of the problem: PicturesToExe, and executable shows don't work, error message appears. This problem occurs on laptops with dual NVIDIA graphics and updated version of Windows 10 (April 2018 update). PicturesToExe 8 and 9 are affected. Solution: Install the updated version of PicturesToExe 9.0.17 or install the updated previous version PicturesToExe 8.0.23 Alternate solutions If you need to run old versions or old executable shows on a laptop with NVIDIA graphics and Windows 10 (April 2018): A. Select a shortcut with PicturesToExe, or select an EXE file with a slideshow. Click right mouse button to show the context menu > Run with graphics processor > choose "Integrated graphics" (or Intel graphics). Intel video card will work correctly. B. Or connect an external monitor as a primary display to your laptop. PicturesToExe will work correctly. P.S. I bring our apologies for this unpleasant problem! We tend to think that there is a bug in NVIDIA drivers under updated Windows 10, because that error occurs when PicturesToExe tries to initilize graphical mode of DirectX. In the updated version we masked the error message to provide the correct work of PicturesToExe. Also I sent a report to NVIDIA with a description of this problem and we hope that it will be fixed in future updates. Discussion of this problem here

    AMD Ryzen performance with PTE?

We purchased a new desktop PC for our office with AMD Ryzen 3 2200G (integrated AMD graphics). It passed all PTE 9 shows at 1920 x 1080 screen resolutions. Absolutely smooth playback. So I think that more powerful AMD Ryzen 5 2400G would be a very good purchase for PTE 9/10. You can install a dedicated video card at any time, if it will be necessary in future.

Fullscreen View of File List freezes [SOLVED]

Please try the new version: https://files.wnsoft.com/test/picturestoexe-setup.exe It should be final v9.0.21 soon.
  16. Hi, How many users still use 32-bit version of Windows? We plan to release 64-bit PicturesToExe 10 for Mac. There will be no 32-bit version for Mac, because all recent macOS versions are 64-bit only last 6-8 years. Apple offers free updates for macOS it means that almost all Mac computers use 64-bit OS now. Microsoft still offers 32-bit version of Windows 10, Windows 8 and Windows 7 also were available for 32-bit. Qualcomm and Microsoft announced and sell ARM based laptops with emulation of 32-bit Windows app (no 64-bit support). Honestly, if we speak about 64-bit version of PicturesToExe, we would prefer to release only 64-bit version. Because support of two versions - 32-bit and 64-bit costs more time for testing, and more forces to develop and support the code (including care about DLL files for both versions). When final code for PTE 10 is ready we need additional 1-2 months to finish 64-bit code for Windows. Any thoughts?

    Installed Windows update 1809

We checked Windows 10 v1809 update. The problem with a slow performance on mobile dual NVIDIA + Intel graphics is NOT solved yet. Avoid the update to v1803 or 1809 as long as possible. We're still waiting the solution from NVIDIA after their confirmation of this problem.

    Dvd-Video Disc sound problem [SOLVED]

Hi, Please try the following: 1. Run VideoBuilder (click DVD video disc from Publish menu). 2. In the Project Options of VideoBuilder > Project tab > Audio Options. Find Audio Format and change from "MPEG Audio" to "LPCM". 3. Burn a new DVD disc. It may help to solve this problem. Usually all DVD players should support MPEG Audio format. LPCM option uses more disc space (uncompressed audio stream).

    Converting

It happens with certain video codecs and combination of parameters. As a temporary solution, we recommend a free good video converter from France - HandBrake - https://handbrake.fr In Output Settings > Video tab > Video Codec > change "H.264" option to "MPEG-4". You can keep other options by default. It will create video optimized for PicturesToExe 9. In future version 10.0 we fully reworked video decoders and PicturesToExe 10 doesn't require to convert video files. All video files will work directly in PTE 10.

    News about PTE 10

I have slight concern about Mac hardware. For some reason Apple frequently installs slow integrated video cards to Mac computers. For example, all Mac Mini, iMac 21.5" Retina with slow Intel integrated graphics. Althought this Mac has 4K screen resolution (in 4.5 times larger than 1920 x 1080). For best work with PTE it should be relatively new Macbook Pro (2016+), iMac with NVIDIA or AMD graphics, or iMac Pro (ideal variant). Even PC with relatively old NVIDIA Geforce 1050 is much faster than any iMac or Macbook Pro (except of iMac Pro). Also if on PC a typical screen resolution is 1920 x 1080, when Macs use 2560×1600, 2880×1800, 4096х2304 or even 5120х2880! Apple should install at least Geforce 1050 or AMD Radeon Vega in all their Macs...
