Hi davegee,

Windows 10 is the operating system. The version is essentials 9.0.10 the programme tells me I have the latest version. It happened on two new projects and yes I have uninstalled and downloaded and again  reinstalled. I have being using Pictures to exe for over 10 years and this version 9 is the first one I've had problems with.

Thanks,

Mick

Hello Mick,

1. Please download this special test application:

http://files.wnsoft.com/test/ComboFont6.zip

2. Unzip this file, and Run ComboFont6.exe file.

3. Click Font List button to show a list of fonts.

Let me know if you will see same error message.

4. When you close the test application, it should create a new file fontlog.txt please send it me. It will help me find a reason of this problem.

Hi All,

Help

Mick

Hi Mick,

We created a new test application. Please can you run it?

http://files.wnsoft.com/test/FontTest1.zip

1. Unpack the ZIP archive.

2. Run ComboFont1.exe file

3. Click Font List button (it should display a list with fonts).

4. Test application will create a new file fontlog.txt in the same folder. Please send me this file.

Thanks,

Hi Mick,

Thanks,

Did you see any error messages when you tried this test app?

If no, please delete fontlog.txt file and try to run it again.

Can you also send me FNTCACHE.DAT file from C:\Windows\System32  ? If it exists there.

Hi Igor,

Please see attached fontlog file retested as requested. There were no error messages. I deleted the file fntcache.dat like Jean suggested and my Font button is working again. I don't understand why and whether the problem will come back. For some reason the fontlog file will not upload to this reply. I've retested three times and each time there is a problem attaching the file here.

Regards,

Mick

mick,
Jean-Cyprien,
chanfi22,

Thanks!

Two more questions, please:

1. We need fontlog.txt file only if the error message occured when you run this test application. Can you confirm this?

2. If you have this problem, send me FNTCACHE.DAT file from C:\Windows\System32

Hi Igor

I just tried a new test on my worstation :

1) Running your test application program : all is OK. I can see the different fonts when clicking the Font list button

2) Following test 1 I ran PTE 9.10 and the issue appeared when clicking the Font list button

Seems your test application not  run the same code than PTE 9.10 regarding the font management?
